During her 8+ years as a long-haul truck driver, Ashley experienced the many challenges that come with driving an 80,000-pound truck on long, tedious routes across the country. Now, at Aurora, she uses her expertise to train and test the Aurora Driver, ensuring our autonomous trucks learn how to be safe and courteous on the road.
As an advocate for the trucking industry, Ashley is passionate about developing self-driving technology that truly benefits drivers and the industries that rely on them. She believes Aurora’s products will help alleviate issues resulting from the driver shortage in the U.S. and make trucking jobs safer and more desirable.

Today, we’re excited to announce a multiphase commercial pilot with Uber Freight to move freight in Texas and to explore integrating access to Uber Freight’s network within Aurora Horizon, our trucking product suite. This will provide carriers with an additional set of tools to further streamline their operations and maximize the uptime of their Aurora-powered trucks.
Today we’re excited to welcome Claire Hughes Johnson to Aurora’s Board of Directors. Claire brings more than 15 years of experience in evolving businesses for scale and delivering enterprise-ready products at leading companies including Stripe and Google.
