Our culture — a look at work and life at Aurora

Who we are
I believe AUGs are very important in creating truly inclusive and supportive communities and environments especially for underrepresented demographics and putting all the value of diversity and inclusion in action.
As a first-generation Peruvian American, it brings great pleasure to share my rich Peruvian culture and history with everyone around me, and Hispanic Heritage Month is a great opportunity to do just that.
I believe that having a diverse workforce will help us develop and deliver a better product to market. I have learned and seen the commitment that our employees have in order to continue to make Aurora a great place to work.
My family is in India, so every year we celebrate Diwali with friends and neighbors. Aurora’s value —Celebrate Our Diversity — is a great excuse to share Diwali with my peers and grow my family away from home.

Celebrating Diversity as One Team
Our team comes from all walks of life, and when everyone feels welcomed, supported, and valued, we’re able to achieve more than we ever thought possible.
One way we accomplish that is with our employee resource groups, what we call Aurora Unified Groups.

With ten cultural identity groups like Pride, VetNet, and Women@, employee-led groups support diverse voices, drive inclusive collaboration, and help make Aurora a great place to work for everyone.
Making an impact
We celebrate the progress we’re making at Aurora — whether it’s introducing a new capability for the Aurora Driver, further streamlining our commercial operations, or improving how we work as one team. During our company all hands meetings, what we call The Intersection, we announce winners for three company awards.

We’re committed to solving difficult problems the right way, even if it means taking the more difficult path. The Excavator Award recognizes our champions for digging in and solving hard problems.

Mission First Philosophy

Aurora has a strong culture around learning and development and I’ve always appreciated how everyone here is an expert at something and eager to share their expertise. One of our company values is “win together” and the spirit of that value comes through every time I approach my colleagues with questions.
